My Leaf and the release of Flutter 1.0

December 2018 ยท 2 minute read

It’s time for a little status update. My Leaf has matured quite a lot since the first beta release. My Leaf pretty much supports every feature that is possible with the official NissanConnect EV app. I’m very happy with the result. My initial goal of building a simple, great looking, and fast third party Android app competing with the official NissanConnect EV app is maybe reached. By that I mean there is always room for improvement. Things that still are missing is widgets and some sort of scheduler for climate control and charging. Background polling of data is also on the drawing board. The thing is that the current Nissan Carwings API is really not tailored for these operations. Making implementation of these features difficult to some degree. These are some of the things I will be looking at for future releases.

Currently My Leaf has about 5000 users. I’m happy with that but it’s still a low number.

Another thing is that Flutter is now out of beta and have had its first stable release 1.0. This coming weekend an update to My Leaf will be released compiled against the stable release of Flutter. Happy days! ;)
